LocalAventura - Book an authentic tour in Latin America

Life happens, and we understand that. That's why we've created a fair cancellation policy to accommodate both our travelers and our guides. Through this policy, we aim to give travelers flexibility when booking their tour while also allowing our guides sufficient time to find a new client for that day.

I. Traveler Cancellation

When you submit a booking request for a Tour through LocalAventura’s platform, LocalAventura collects your payment information. Once the Local Guide confirms the booking, LocalAventura will immediately process your payment. Full payment is required to finalize a reservation.

Canceling a booking with LocalAventura can result in cancellation fees being applied by LocalAventura, as outlined below. When canceling any booking you will be notified via email of the total cancellation fees.

a. Event, Attraction, Theater, Show or Coupon Tickets are non-refundable in all circumstances.

b. Multi-Day Tour Products & Services are refundable under certain circumstances.

  • If you cancel at least 30 calendar days in advance, there is no cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund.
  • If you cancel within 30 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. In other words, you are not eligible for a refund.
  • Once a tour or service has commenced, no refunds are available.

c. Single-Day Tour Products & Services are refundable under certain circumstances.

  • If you cancel at least 7 calendar days in advance, there is no cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund.
  • If you cancel between 3 and 6 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
  • If you cancel within 2 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. In other words, you are not eligible for a refund.
  • Once a tour or service has commenced, no refunds are available.

FULL REFUND

If the customer cancels at least 7 calendar days in advance, there is no cancellation fee and the customer will receive a full refund.

3-6 DAYS
PARTIAL REFUND

If the customer cancels between 3 and 6 calendar days in advance, the customer will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.

2 DAYS OR LESS
NO REFUND

If the customer cancels within 2 calendar days in advance, the customer will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. In other words, the customer is not eligible for a refund.

The value of the transaction may be subject to taxes, duties, foreign transaction, currency exchange or other fees. Your bank or credit or debit card company may convert the payment into the local currency and charge fees, resulting in differences between the amount displayed on LocalAventura’s websites, and the final amount charged to your bank account or credit or debit card statement. Please contact your bank or card company if you have any questions concerning any applicable conversion or fees.

If there is a complaint from either party, notice must be given to LocalAventura immediately with an explanation of the dispute. LocalAventura will mediate disputes, when necessary, and will have final say thereon.

II. Provider Cancellation

In the event that a Local Guide cancels the Tour, whenever possible, LocalAventura will connect Traveler to an alternate Local Guide who can fulfill request. If not, LocalAventura will refund the Total Fees for such booking to the applicable Traveler within a commercially reasonable time of the cancellation.

III. Cancellation due to Outside Factors

Certain Tours may depend on factors outside either party’s control, such as weather. The Local Guide has the discretion as to whether Outside Factors will prevent the Tour from taking place. As a Local Guide, if you need to cancel a Tour due to Outside Factors, you must contact the Traveler and LocalAventura (at founders@localaventura.com) immediately.

Subject to the Traveler’s consent, the Local Guide and the Traveler may choose to reschedule the Tour for another date. If the Tour cannot be rescheduled, the Traveler should contact LocalAventura so we may assist in finding a replacement Tour or Local Guide. For clarity, in the event the alternative Tour is of a higher price than the former, Traveler will be responsible for any difference in price. In the event the alternative Tour is of a lower price, Traveler will be entitled to a partial refund for the difference. As a Traveler, if you have contacted LocalAventura as provided above and LocalAventura is unable to find you a replacement Tour, LocalAventura may refund the Total Fees for such booking to the applicable Traveler within a commercially reasonable time of the cancellation.
