Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, I’ve always had a passion for Chilean history. In fact, one of my favorite parts of being a guide is volunteering each year during “National Monuments Day,” where I get to teach locals facts that even they may not know about their city’s most historic buildings.
I first decided to become a guide because of my interest in world affairs, history, and intercultural exchange. I thought it would be a great way to meet people and learn about different countries, while also teaching them a bit about my own country. For the past six years, I’ve been doing just that. My job in tourism has given me the opportunity to work in the largest winery in Chile, where I led the training of other guides and helped host private events. During my time there, I was able to develop a keen appreciation and passion for Chilean wines. All these interests - wine, history, and global affairs - have converged into tourism, creating the perfect combination of my passions!
Originally, from Los Andes at the mountains in central Chile, I have also lived between our capital Santiago, and the colonial city of Valparaiso known for its bohemian and artistic vibe.
I am particularly interested in nature, arts, music and enjoy nothing more than rambling around the countryside and cities with character; exploring villages, finding hidden corners, and being surprised by unexpected moments.
My background is Journalism and Social Communication, but since I moved to Rio de Janeiro I've spent the last 12 years working in the Hotel Industry and Tourism. Travelling and knowing other cultures is one of my passions so after living in Brazil, I've decided to improve my English studying in London where I've stayed for a couple of years, and which gave me the possibility of working in the Pub and Restaurants business too.
Now, back in Chile and after all the past experiences I've decided to divide my time between working at a Vineyard in the Aconcagua Valley, volunteering in a non-profit environmental organization, and guiding as I love sharing and showing the beauties of my country.
I have a passion for art and music, and love attending live performances. From theater to dance to music, there’s something truly exciting about seeing this art in its live form - can’t get enough.
I am passionate about listening to music, visual arts and traveling. I love nature, hiking, going on photo walks, food and browsing local markets.
I would love to travel to Italy because of its history as one of the original western contemporary civilizations. The country has such a rich heritage in terms of architecture, art, culture, food, and so much more. Not to mention, I’ve always dreamed of throwing a coin in the Trevi Fountain and drinking wine in Tuscany.
I would like to explore the Mayan ruins of Tikal in Guatemala: the largest and possibly the oldest of the Maya cities! Located deep in the jungle with various temples and pyramids, and hidden among the thick tropical vegetation. I love exploring ruins and I
find fascinating to learn about ancient cities and civilizations.
