Description

Buenos Aires is often times referred to as “The Paris of South America". While the city is home to some delicious croissants (or medialunas, as Argentines call them), that’s not how it earned its title. On this full-day tour, join Loli and Mariana, both Buenos Aires natives, as you discover the truth behind this name. In the north side of the city you’ll get to see both the posh neighborhoods of the past as well as today’s most trendsetting parts of town. Starting the day in the neighborhoods Retiro and Recoleta, you’ll catch a glimpse into Argentina’s golden age and explore the famous Recoleta Cemetery, where the city’s most influential are buried. To see more of Buenos Aires’ grandiose and eclectic architecture you will then head to Plaza Lavalle, home to the famous Teatro Colón and the Supreme Courthouse.

Next, discover a more modern part of the city as your Local Guide drives you into Palermo. Visit the coastline of the Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the world, and the beautiful gardens that line the way. In the hip Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood districts, Loli and Mariana will show you where design meets trend. There, you’ll see the latest in Argentine fashion, art, culture, and gastronomy. A great way to witness the modern and historic sides of the city, this full-day tour will be customized exactly to your interests. With a porteña (Buenos Aires native) leading the way, not only will you see the sights, but you’ll also see Buenos Aires beyond the postcard.

Loli and Mariana

We are Mariana and Loli, two porteñas, which means we were born and raised in Buenos Aires. Both of us share a love for this city, which is why we are so excited to show travelers around. We don’t like giving just any old tour, though. We want to show visitors beyond what the postcards will show them; we want them to see the real Buenos Aires. As porteñas, we know every corner of the city, including its rich history, architecture, culture, and lifestyle. Through our tours, we hope to unveil forgotten stories, engage in discussions of current events, and even take you to the most off-the-beaten-path attractions of the city, sometimes even forgotten by the locals themselves.

Loli
I’ve always had a free spirit and grew up dreaming of seeing the world. Naturally, this itch to travel drew me to the hospitality industry. For over 17 years, I worked in luxury travel, doing everything from teaching ski and snowboarding to managing high-end fly fishing lodges and boutique hotels in Mexico, Patagonia, and Buenos Aires. I even went to culinary school and worked as a Private Chef in Aspen, Colorado and throughout Argentina.

After moving around for so long, I then settled back in Buenos Aires, where I decided to use my passion for the travel industry to create my own tour company. My vision was to create tailor-made and unique tours of the city. Through my tours, I hope people discover the real Buenos Aires, through its lifestyle, food, history, and idiosyncrasies.

Mariana
I have an undying infatuation with Buenos Aires, and love to explore it as if I myself were a tourist. Every day, I find myself discovering new places to go, from craft cocktail bars to undiscovered porteño artists.

I originally went to school to study advertising and electronic arts, and then worked in community management. The desk life wasn’t quite for me, so I decided to show off my knowledge and love of my city by becoming a guide. On my tours I love showing travelers the real Buenos Aires. Rather than just telling them about it, I like to actually engage in discussions about Argentina’s social issues, current events, politics, economics, and culture. I want to provide travelers with extraordinary experiences that’ll immerse them in this city. Everyone has different passions and interests, which is why I love tailoring your Buenos Aires tour to match your personality!
