In the largest city in South America, you wouldn’t expect to see a lush green forest with trails, rivers, and abundant vegetation. However, that is exactly what the Capivari-Monos nature reserve offers on this full-day São Paulo group hiking adventure! Just under 20 miles away from downtown São Paulo is a pristine river where you can swim in its crystal clear waters surrounded by forest.
Our Local Guide Samir will take you to visit this beautiful spot to see the best-preserved natural area in the city of São Paulo. During this immersion into Brazil's nature, you’re likely to see sloths, monkeys, tapirs, and maybe even some footprints of a puma. This medium-difficulty hike will lead you to some beautiful nature vistas and transport you to a whole new world outside of the city.
Roundtrip transportation from central São Paulo to Capivari-Monos Reserve
Born and in raised São Paulo, a large metropolis of almost 12 million people, you would think that I didn’t spend much time in nature. But in fact, it was the opposite. This city is filled with incredible green spaces, forests, and wildlife.
As a child, I joined the Boy Scouts and learned all about the wilderness, camping, and gave me a love for adventure. In college, I studied finance and business administration. Through my jobs that followed after graduation, I got the opportunity to travel around North America, Europe, and South America. This instilled a passion for travel that was so strong I decided to switch career paths. I began working in tourism in 2010 because I wanted to help other people have the kinds of meaningful experiences that I had when I traveled. My tours are for an adventurous traveler who is seeking the unconventional. Follow me into the woods to see some spectacular waterfalls, wildlife and majestic views.
