If you want to learn about and truly experience the most important cloud forest in Costa Rica, this is the tour for you! In just one day, you will be able to learn all about the Monteverde Cloud Forest and so much more. Monteverde is one of the most visited cloud forests in Costa Rica. It has received worldwide recognition for the reserve’s conservation efforts and research, as well as the incredible diversity of flora and fauna found in its ecosystem.
During the drive from La Fortuna to Monteverde, your local guide will tell you more about this famous cloud forest and the differences between it and the popular Arenal Rainforest. Once you have arrived at the Monteverde Rainforest, you will begin your adventure with a tasty tour at Don Juan Tours! This is a 3-in-1 coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane tour that will teach you everything you know about the fruits, from how the fruit is picked, to the different products made from these fruits today. You will even get to participate in a final taste test curated just for you and your tour! After this already delicious day, you will have lunch before visiting the Monteverde Reserve. As you hike through this nature reserve, your local guide will help you understand your surrounding ecosystem and point out specific exotic animals around you, such as resplendent quetzals, howler monkeys, and three-wattled bellbirds.
I was born and raised in Costa Rica where I grew up in the rural area of Liberia. I was lucky to have grown up in Liberia, an area known for its vivid culture, zipline tours, and diverse natural wonders that only begin with its beautiful beaches, tropical dry forests, and volcanoes. In addition to the gorgeous environment I grew up in, I also constantly traveled to the far corners of Costa Rica with my family ever since I was a child. All of this has made me into the nature-loving person I am today! I love the outdoors, and even today I live near the Arenal Volcano and Monteverde. I love taking the time to observe nature, whether it is by birdwatching in the day or taking photos of frogs or snakes around my house in the evening. And of course, I love being able to explore nature with my job! My favorite part about being a tour guide is not only being immersed in nature but also being able to have the opportunity to meet new people and understand others’ ways of seeing the world.
