  • Pick up at your accommodation at 10 am
  • Local guide Ryan will take you to the city’s most famous tannat producer.
  • Join the owner of the vineyard for an exclusive tasting of 5 wines, paired with cheese and snacks.
  • After, you will go to the neighborhood of Punta Carretas for a gourmet three-course lunch, specially prepared by the owner and chef himself.
  • Your local guide will pair your meal with wines from his private collection.
  • You will be taken back to your accommodation around 3 pm.

Ever since I was young, my life has been centered around wine production. I grew up in South Africa in Paarl, which is a stunning winemaking town in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Growing up next to a vineyard, my brother and I used to climb over the fence as kids and help ourselves to the clusters of ripe Chenin Blanc grapes. 

Growing up, my wine adventure went from stealing grapes to working all around the world as a sommelier. My love of wine has taken me to working in places like the highlands of Scotland, The Covent Garden Hotel in London, and the Yachts of Seabourn, where I worked as the head sommelier. Eventually, I found myself working for the wineries of Mendoza in Argentina, where I fell in love with South America and its unique varietals. Soon after, I went on to taste the wines of Uruguay, and was delighted by the charming boutique vineyards and the tannat grapes. After experiencing the wonderful wines of Uruguay, I decided to start hosting tours here, to show wine enthusiasts and travelers alike, that while small, Uruguay is truly an underrated and magnificent wine producing region.
