Learn some feisty dance moves, then show them off to the world on this double-duty tango tour. You’ll start with private dance lessons before heading to a dance hall to dance the night away. A private dance lesson with a world-renowned tango instructor will turn you into a dancer in no time. Perfect for a couple looking for a night out, this tour will take you step by step through the basics of the tango, from the embrace to the elegant walk and the eight-count steps.
First, you’ll watch professional dancers demonstrate their beautiful and seductive routines before you try to recreate them. Following your lesson, your local guide will take you to a milonga, an Argentine dance hall, for an exciting night out. Some milongas even feature live orchestras and performances. In just a few hours, you’ll understand why this dance keeps everyone coming back to Argentina.
This tour is accessible to all ages. Please inform your guide if someone in your party is in a wheelchair, as some milongas are able to make accommodations.
Born and raised in the city that never sleeps, I found my passion for dance at the early age of 5. My hometown of New York City was the perfect backdrop for me to pursue my dream of being a dancer. I studied classical ballet at The School of American Ballet for 10 years and performed many times as a child with the New York City Ballet.
It wasn’t until I was a teen that I began to discover my love for Latin America and its dance styles. At 19, I visited Cuba and became obsessed with both salsa dancing and the Latin American way of life. Once I got to Mount Holyoke College, I wanted to keep exploring, so I left to Argentina after graduating and mastered my Spanish there. As soon as I stepped foot into my first milonga, a traditional Argentinean dance hall, I knew that discovering tango had changed my life. After that moment, I dedicated my whole life to perfecting my moves. Within one year, I had won the United States Tango Championship and competed in the World Tango Championship. Two years after my first visit to Buenos Aires, I returned to make it my permanent home. That’s when I started by business as a tango instructor. Six years later, I still fall more in love with Buenos Aires and tango each and every day.
Born in Oporto, Portugal, I’ve always loved dance. I have been dancing since the young age of 6. I may have started in classical ballet, but my passion for dance could not be contained. I started exploring different styles like contemporary, jazz, and eventually tango.
One day, I decided to try out tango and I’ve never turned back. I was immediately enamoured with this passionate and romantic dance. Since 2001, I’ve been a professional dancer and teacher. However, I also had other passions that I wanted to pursue, including architecture. As a part of my architecture education, I got an opportunity to study abroad. I immediately knew I wanted to go to Buenos Aires. In this city, I was able to live out my passions for dance and beautiful architecture. After visiting, I knew I would eventually move back once I graduated. In 2009, I made the move and immediately began my career as a tango career. It was the best decision I ever made. I love waking up every day and dancing through this beautiful city.
