Costa Rica’s Tamarindo Beach is a paradise for any beach-goer. There is an abundance of soft sand, lush vegetation, and clear blue waves perfect for first-time surfers. Visitors looking for adventure beyond relaxing in the sand find that surf lessons are the perfect fit. This beach is a premier surf destination with near perfect conditions all year long. Expert surf instructor, Eric, can guide any beginner, intermediate, or advanced surfer through the warm waves of the Pacific Ocean.
All attendees will walk away from these 2-hour private classes with new surfing techniques, safety tips, and fun memories. The class schedule is flexible because Eric knows there are tons of fun activities nearby and is willing to work around your schedule. The private lessons allow riders get the hands-on attention they need. Once the class is up, you may just want to rent a board because leaving the water may be the hardest thing you do all day. As all surfing aficionados know, the greatest view of the tropical palm tree landscape is from the water.

Born and raised in the landlocked state of Missouri, going to the beach wasn’t a huge part of my childhood, unfortunately. It wasn’t until later in life when I did extensive traveling throughout South America, Hawaii, and Spain, that I fell in love with the ocean. On one of these trips, I decided to try out a surfing lesson and was hooked immediately. Surfing is the most exhilarating way to feel one with the water. With every trip I planned, I found some way to hit the waves. It wasn’t long before I was addicted and knew I wanted to wake up every morning and dive in bright blue waters.
Eight years ago, I settled in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and immediately began working as a surf instructor. I’ve been surfing for over 12 years now, and I’ve discovered that I love teaching as much as I love surfing. Once I earn the trust of my students. It’s great to see them let loose and have fun. With every wave my students catch, I hope they also catch the same passion for surfing that I got all those years ago. My love of surfing first began on vacation and so can yours.
