Travel to the intriguing secret spots in the downtown Buenos Aires that most tourists miss. Listen to the stories behind these locations as you pass through them on your trip. You’ll walk along the first avenue in South America, which is a faithful reflection of the European style of late19th century architecture. Your Local Guide Elisa will show you beautiful monuments, palaces, and sculptures including the famous sculpture “The Thinker” by Rodin. You'll visit the oldest shop in the city: a vintage pharmacy, the first one in the City, that acts as a living museum.
Admire paintings related to the pharmaceutical industry, and head into the station of one of the oldest subways in the world to view its original structure. Enjoy a journey to an amazing palace full of analogies and references to Dante’s “Divine Comedy,” which the builder intended to be the resting place of the poet’s ashes. You’ll enter the artist’s interpretation of Hell and stop at the headquarters of the “Mothers of Plaza de Mayo” (mothers whose children disappeared during the last military dictatorship) where you’ll visit an eccentric political bar. Finally, you’ll end your journey at a mystical, quaint, and cozy coffee shop. Let Elisa show you around her favorite spots of Buenos Aires!
Participants must be able to walk at a leisurely pace for about 3 hours.

I am a Buenos Aires native who loves interacting with people and exploring hidden gems off the beaten path. I love attending to smaller, more intimate tour groups where each tour is tailored to the travelers’ pace and interests. I am flexible, friendly, and love to accommodate to your needs and possible questions. My tours aren’t your typical “hurry-hurry” tour - feel free to take your time and explore! I want to make sure you will receive a truly personal experience with each new location. My tours include city landmarks that deviate from your typical must- see tourist stops, so you will have an authentic local experience.
I am certain that you will enjoy discovering unique places that are not on the touristic circuit or included in any guidebook like the places that the locals enjoy every day. If you seek off the beaten path locations instead of the common tourist attractions, love to listen to stories you might otherwise never have the chance to hear and are looking to experience the real Buenos Aires then join me on one of my tours for a very memorable experience!
